A real person reads every one of these. There are not many of us — there is one of us — so you will get an answer rather than a ticket number.

If something is broken

Include whatever you have. This is the list that gets a bug fixed fastest:

• What you were doing when it happened — the screen you were on, the dungeon and floor, the monster if you were in a fight.
• Your device and OS version, and whether you were playing on the App Store build, itch.io, or this website.
• Your character level, and whether it happens every time or happened once.
• A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see.
• Your save file, if the problem is stuck to one character — see below.

Sending a save file

The game can hand you your save as a single small file. Open the menu with X, choose the export option, and the game writes out a file named something like snakeoff-lv20-2026-08-17-04-51.json. Attach it to your post on the board. It contains your character and nothing about you.

The same menu restores from a file, which is also how you move a character between devices or recover one after a reinstall. Export before you reinstall anything. Deleting the app deletes the save with it.

Questions that come up

Where does my save live? Is it in the cloud?

On your device only. There is no account and no server holding your character, which is why the export file matters.

I cleared my browser data and my web save is gone.

The web build stores your save in the browser's local storage for this site. Clearing site data, or playing in a private window, removes it. Nothing can recover it afterwards — export a backup if a character matters to you.

What is the 99c unlock?

The game is free and complete through the Spire. Beating it opens the Watch, the endgame, which is a one-time 99c unlock on the App Store and Google Play. It restores across your devices through your Apple or Google account. On itch.io and here on the website, the Watch is free.

Can I play it in the EU?

Yes — right here in your browser, free and complete, Watch included. Snakeoff's Quest is not distributed through the App Store in the European Union, so the web build and itch.io are where to play it.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The web build has touch controls and works in both orientations. If it misbehaves in your browser, the itch.io page is a good second door — same game.

How do I turn off telemetry?

The X menu has a toggle. Off is off, permanently. What it collects and why is spelled out in the privacy policy — it is short and it is honest.

I am stuck.

Read the building signs in Tonicton; each one says what is inside. Heal at Maribel's before you go back down. If a monster is chewing through you, the compendium lists what every species is weak to — hitting the right element is most of the fight.

Feature requests and complaints

Both are welcome, and the second is more useful. Snakeoff's Quest 2 is in development and the things people found annoying about the first one are the best material there is. The community board is the place for them.
